01The role

An AI-native engineering org, not one experimenting with AI.

Coding agents are how the work gets done here. Specs, context files, and repo conventions are written for agents as much as for people, and shipping velocity assumes you are operating that way too.

You will work across a genuinely technical product: a TypeScript/Node backend, a Next.js frontend, and performance-sensitive components in Rust. The domain is security, so correctness matters more than it does at most startups — “it works on the happy path” is not done.

02Scope

What you will do

  • Own features end to end — design, implementation, tests, and the operational reality after they ship.
  • Build backend services in TypeScript/Node and product surfaces in Next.js; contribute to Rust components where the performance path demands it.
  • Use Claude Code, Codex, or equivalent as your primary development environment — planning, implementing, reviewing, and refactoring with agents rather than around them.
  • Keep the repo an environment agents can work in: clear context files, tight conventions, tests that actually catch things.
  • Bring a security engineer’s instincts to design reviews — threat model the feature, not just the code.
  • Make architectural calls on incomplete information, and be willing to revisit them.

03Requirements

What we are looking for

  • 7+ years building production software with meaningful backend or systems ownership. Senior means holding a subsystem and its consequences, not closing tickets.
  • Strong TypeScript/Node, comfortable in Next.js. Rust experience is a real plus; willingness to work in it is a requirement.
  • Deep, daily fluency with AI coding agents. Be ready to describe your actual workflow — how you scope work for an agent, where you let it run, how you verify, and where you have learned not to trust it. Curiosity is not enough.
  • Cybersecurity background. Application security, infrastructure security, identity, detection engineering, or adjacent. You need not have been a specialist, but you need to think like one.
  • High throughput at high quality. Fast-paced means short cycles and frequent shipping, not shortcuts on tests or review.
  • Americas or nearshore time zone, with meaningful overlap with US business hours.
  • Self-directed. Small team, little process, no one assigning work item by item.

04Bonus

Nice to have

  • Seed or Series A startup experience, or a technical founding role.
  • Distributed systems, graph datastores, or high-throughput event pipelines.
  • Experience in regulated or compliance-heavy environments.
  • Open-source contributions or public technical writing.

05Terms

The engagement

  • Contract engagement, full-time or part-time depending on fit and availability.
  • Fully remote; Americas or nearshore time zones required.
  • Competitive rate, commensurate with experience.
  • Path to a larger, longer-term role for the right person.

06 — Apply

Send a short note covering three things.

  1. A system you owned end to end — what it did, and the hardest decision you made on it.
  2. How you actually work with AI coding agents day to day, including where you have seen them fail.
  3. A security problem you have worked on, at whatever depth you have.

Links to code, writing, or shipped products are worth more than a résumé.

Ready when you are

Submit the application form — a few details, your résumé, and the note above. It lands with the people you would be working with. We respond in 1–3 business days.
